2003 HIGHLIGHT MALIBU NINE PUT SCARE INTO #1 The Malibu Sharks put a real scare into the La Quinta High School Aztecs in Tuesday's Second Round CIF Division 4 playoff game played at Malibu High School. Sophomore Jamie van Soelen had a remarkable day on the mound, holding the #7 nationally ranked team to 6 hits. van Soelen tallied 7 strike outs on the day as he and battery-mate Phil Johnson worked pitches in and out all day. The Aztecs scored their first run on a shaky start by the Sharks: walk, walk, HBP, error. From there, the pitching of van Soelen and the Shark defense held until a seventh inning home run. Senior Tommaso Trento went 2-3 on the day, while Seniors Jaime Ballesteros and Justin Vititoe had a single each. The Sharks end their season at 13-10-1. A SPECIAL THANK YOU TO ALL THE FANS THAT ATTENDED THE GAME. IT MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE WITH PEOPLE ROOTING US ON. THANK YOU FROM THE WHOLE TEAM!!! |
